Apartment Review for Grande View - Biloxi, MS

The apartment is in a wonderful location (as long as no more hurricanes come) and makes it very easy to walk to the beach. My problems are as follows:

1.) All Internet/TV/phone runs through a monopoly. ComOne is the company in total control of your digital everything. This wouldn't be a problem except for the horrible support and high prices. It is depressing to know that a block over the fence people pay less than me but get a real Internet connection. If you require a VPN for work, speed for connections, security for online billing, or just generally want choices...go elsewhere. I work in the IT field for a living and have for 10 years, they are the worse ISP I have EVER come in contact with. For me Internet isn't a luxury, but a requirement. You may think otherwise.

2.) The apartments when I moved in were in quick turnaround mode due to Katrina. My carpet as others have noted is coming up and crappy. Other things are the shower heads were put in really bad so a hosed one doesn't support itself well. It took 3 months to have my door on the outdoor storage put in and fixed. The screen on my porch still isn't fixed. The cabinets in the bathrooms don't line up and the bottoms are falling out of the drawers. Other things are that the doors aren't lined up correctly so if you shut one, the pressure causes the other to open. Just little things that bother you when you pay that rent.

3.) Kim in the office is wonderful and is always a help.

4.) Rent is jumping through the roof. I watch the emails sent out to the base showing the jumps in rent since I moved in. At this point get a rented home or something because it is outrageous! For what you are paying you get very little in return. Military people on BAH may want to reconsider and choose elsewhere.

Overall I am happy to be here because it was all I could get after Katrina. With that said, I will quickly move out at the end of my lease and if I had the choice not have been here in the first place. Look around there are better options where the quality, surroundings, and connectivity are a thousand times better.
